New Personality feature
The Automation-class RadioLinx IHN series (industrial 802.11n) now comes with a new Personality feature . This consists of an SD (Secured Digital) memory card and the ability given to the radio to read/write configuration information from/to that card.
Typical benefits include:
·         Manage and distribute multiple configuration profiles(great for OEMs).
·         Easier backup and maintenance of radio configurations.
·         Increased uptime of the network.
·         Damage recovery - load configuration quickly into replacement radio (no computer required).
The radio is able to function normally with or without an SD card inserted.

When a radio is being configured, and the SD card present, the radio writes the new configuration to the card. On boot, a radio accesses the SD card (if present), and writes the settings from this card to its internal flash memory.
This is a standard feature of the RadioLinx IHN series .

Axiomtek Introduced Hardened rBOX204 Din-rail Fanless Embedded System with Four PoE

The low-power rBOX204 features a wide-temperature operation, a super compact form-factor, a complete expandability, and AXView monitoring software for both indoor and outdoor industrial environments

Axiomtek’s brand new rBOX204 Din-rail fanless embedded system utilizes the low-power AMD LX800 processor and is designed to withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C for use in extremely cold or hot environments.

The cost-effective rBOX204 supports four Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) ports, which can power IEEE802.3af compliant powered devices (PD) and transmit data simultaneously, saving wiring costs and suitable for outdoor applications such as IP video surveillance, APs, industrial controls, and intercoms. Multiple built-in serial ports, high-speed LANs and USB 2.0 ports enable fast and efficient data computation, communication and acquisition.

eWON News, [ Industrial Remote access ]

Plug'n Route

No need for Gateway address in remote devices on the local LAN with Plug'n Route.

Plug'n Route is a new routing feature inside the eWON running firmware 6.2s0 or higher.

It highly simplifies the configuration steps to access Ethernet devices through Talk2M.

When Plug'n Route is activated, then there is no no need anymore to reprogram the Ethernet device to define the eWON LAN as default gateway.
With Plug'n Route, once the VPN tunnel to the eWON through Talk2M established, you can use the local IP address of the Ethernet device to connect to it. As if you where connected locally.
The Plug'n Route feature is activated by default by the Talk2M wizard.

Now available on CompactLogix®: CIPconnect™ allows users to easily configure and diagnose PROFIBUS network from EtherNet/IP

The PROFIBUS DP Master V1 communication module for the CompactLogix platform (MVI69-PDPMV1) is now equipped with CIPconnect™, a feature that enables remote configuration and diagnostics of the MVI69-PDPMV1 module via EtherNet/IP.

CIPconnect technology utilizes the backplane bridging capabilities of the CompactLogix system to enable EtherNet/IP connectivity between a PC and the MVI69-PDPMV1 module via a 1769-L35E or L32E module. CIPconnect also enables Asset Management software that supports FDT/DTM to connect to PROFIBUS DP/PA devices over EtherNet/IP.

INS News: Axiomtek Launched 24-port IP30-rated Managed Ethernet Switches, iCON-27000 Series, with 4 Gigabit SFP

Axiomtek today introduced iCON-27000 19” rack-mountable managed Ethernet switch equipped with up to twenty-four 10/100Base-TX or 100Base-FX/BX ports plus four 10/100/1000Base-TX ports or four Gigabit SFP combo (1000BASE-SX/LX/BX) ports.


The IP30-rated iCON-27000 is designed to make the construction of a reliable Ethernet network easy. It complies with UL standards and meets IEC61000-6-2 EMC Generic standard immunity for industrial environment. To provide non-stop Ethernet connection, the iCON-27000 supports intelligent α-Ring redundancy technology which provides fast network recovery within 15ms. This rugged and reliable unit is a special design for power station, building, control room and telecom applications where request high-ports density and performance.

Fully manageable via SNMP, Web Browser, Telnet or Console port, the iCON-27000 is designed to integrate 10/100Mbps networks into fiber optic Gigabit backbones. The four Gigabit SFP ports can be fiber optic or copper ports. This managed Ethernet switch supports Snooping, Spanning Tree for Redundancy, QoS for priority queuing, and port mirroring. Users may choose among SNMP/RMON, Web browser, or Telnet for remote monitoring and configuration. It also supports rate control, which allows users to set the maximum bandwidth on each port individually. Otherwise, the iCON-27000 switch offers IEEE802.1X port-based network access control for network security. ProSoft i-View is a mobile iPhone/iPod touch/iPad application that allows for remote monitoring and control of process values within an EtherNet/IP and/or Modbus TCP/IP network, utilizing a wireless 802.11 (WiFi) and/or cellular network connection.

ProSoft Technology is now the exclusive provider of SlotServer Communication Modules manufactured by FieldServer.

The SlotServer modules provide communication for a number of Building Automation Systems and Fire Alarm Control Panel protocols previously not available via ControlLogix.

LonWorks Communication Modules
The LonWorks Communication module interfaces directly to LonWorks communications network. LonWorks is a key open system protocol used in building automation, transportation, and process control. Providing a standard generic profile allows most of the more common Standard Network Variable Types (SNVT's) to be bound to the module for data transfer. The LonWorks Module provides two-way connectivity to energy management systems, HVAC controls, VFD, generators and building control systems available from such manufacturer's as Honeywell, Circon, Johnson Controls, Distech Controls, Echelon, Tridium, Loytec, and many more.

BACnet Communication Modules
BACnet is a widely used protocol used by major building automation system manufactures in control systems and devices to monitor and control building operations. In process control plants it is often necessary to interface the building management information with the process control information. The BACnet module is the only device capable of interfacing BACnet data directly to ControlLogix. These modules are available for BACnet PTP, BACnet MS/TP, BACnet Ethernet and BACnet IP.

Metasys N2 Communication Modules
Johnson Controls Metasys N2 is used in building control systems and devices manufactured by Johnson Controls and their broad range of Metasys by Johnson Controlspartners. The JCI Metasys Module can act as a Master or Slave and can handle over 3000 addresses.

Building Automation Protocols are utilized by a wide variety of building devices including HVAC, VAV, boiler controls, chillers, air conditioners, fume hoods and more. The BAS drivers normally enable two-way communication from ControlLogix platform to these devices.

Axiomtek introduced the iCON-78000 series of industrial harden managed PoE Ethernet switches with a wide operating temperature range (-40ºC ~ +75ºC) for extreme environment used. The iCON-78000 series not only features eight PoE ports but also provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 10/100base-FX ports. UL 508 is a safety standard for industrial control equipment and it covers the requirements for devices rated 1500 volts or less, products intended for use in an ambient temperature specifically indicated for use in other conditions and industrial control panels that are as assemblies of industrial control devices and other devices associated with the control of motor operated and the related industrial equipment.
